Listen to MØ’s Heartfelt Cover of Avicii’s Dance Classic, “Wake Me Up”

Paying tribute to her late friend and collaborator Avicii has released a beautiful cover of his hit track "Wake Me Up."

MØ, who collaborated with the late EDM icon to release 2013's "Dear Boy," breathes new life into Aloe Blacc's timeless vocals. Infusing them with her raw and powerful voice, she stays true to the original "Wake Me Up" while adding a fresh twist, belting over a propulsive synthpop beat.

Avicii has had a profound impact on MØ, she says, and played an instrumental role in her decision to pursue music.

"Avicii's music and life story has touched me deeply over the years," she explained in a press release shared with EDM.com. "In 2012 in New York City at a weird rooftop party and to the tones of 'Levels,' something about the unapologetic, almost aggressive energy mixed with a haunting emotional depth made me make up my mind to follow my dreams of becoming an artist, whatever the cost."

Out now via RCA/Sony, the cover comes paired with another new single, "Who Said," which finds MØ reconnecting with her electronic music roots and Nordic origins.
