Listen to Sara Landry’s Blistering BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix
There seems to be no "off" button on the breakneck rise of Sara Landry, who on Friday became the latest DJ to join the annals of BBC Radio 1's legendary Essential Mix series.
The influential mixshow has long-functioned as a rite of passage for surging DJs the likes of Landry, whose rapid ascent to dance music superstardom has been fascinating to watch. The self-proclaimed "High Priestess of Hard Techno," who was named to the EDM.com Class of 2024, recently headlined the pioneering Dutch techno festival Verknipt and drew one of the largest crowds at EDC Las Vegas.
Landry's two-hour Essential Mix is a blistering blitz into the darkest corners of her sound, which pushes the tempo to the bleeding edge. With pummeling psytrance basslines and industrial techno kicks, the energy rarely relents.
Listeners will hear music by Airod, Brutalismus 3000, ZORZA and other hungry techno artists currently redefining the genre. Landry also spotlights tracks released on her own label, HEKATE Records, like Raven and Frankie Watch's "Phone Sex" and her recent collaboration with Alt8, "Heaven."
