Look Inside Culture, a Mind-Bending Club Hellbent on Shaking Up DC’s Nightlife Scene
Equal parts nightclub and interactive entertainment space, Culture is a playground for nocturnal art enthusiasts and music lovers alike, creating a symphony for the senses.
Spearheaded by DC-based collective Nü Androids and its founder, Nayef Issa, the brand new club is an exercise in contrarian production. Electronic music is Issa's love language, and shared experiences are its touchstone.
Issa, who has organized shows with Grammy-winning superstar Black Coffee and late fashion icon Virgil Abloh, is renowned in the area's nightlife sector for his proclivity to alchemize art with rave culture. From the dangling palm fronds to the iridescent disco balls that enshroud Culture in kaleidoscopic hues, his visceral approach is apparent in every nook and cranny of the venue.
Culture, which has the capability to transform into a bespoke art gallery or a special events space, recently hosted an unofficial soft launch with house music luminary Justin Martin, who threw down a memorable pilot show last week. Now Issa and his team are gearing up for tonight's formal launch, a party headlined by esteemed All Day I Dream founder Lee Burridge.
They've also got shows planned this summer with nu-disco star Moon Boots and Grammy-nominated producer TOKiMONSTA.
