LP Giobbi is making 2023 her biggest year yet.
Continuing a phenomenal start, she's now dropped a euphoric single with Little Jet, "Can't Let You Go." Giobbi, who says the song was created "to be consumed during a pool time hang with friends," has crafted the perfect tune to lead fans into the slowly warming days of spring.
"Can't Let You Go" is a floaty daydream, embracing tranquil rhythms and capturing us with its effortlessly catchy lyrics. Take a listen below and find the new single on streaming platforms here.
The release of "Can't Let You Go" arrives alongside the announcement of Giobbi's debut album, Light Places, which is set to release via Counter Records on May 12th. The record is dedicated to her parents and their free-spirited approach to life, and how it shaped her as a person.
A self-described Deadhead, Giobbi recently had the opportunity to remix Grateful Dead lead singer Jerry Garcia's 1972 solo album, Garcia. She says the name of her debut album is inspired by lyrics from the band's 1974 track "Scarlet Begonias."
"The album is called 'Light Places' which is the LP of these Scarlet Begonias Grateful Dead lyrics, 'Once in a while You get shown the LIGHT In the strangest of PLACES If you look at it right,'" Giobbi writes. "These are some of my dad’s favorite Dead lyrics and almost a philosophy for the way he lives and taught my brother and me to live. I am a seeker of light places both in the physical and the divine. I believe in letting yourself get lost and finding out it’s exactly where you were supposed to be."
