In 2021, Austin City Limits held their 20th-anniversary event after canceling the year prior due to the pandemic. Headliners for last year's event included Billie Eilish, Miley Cyrus, and RÜFÜS DU SOL. Other supporting acts included Madeon, St. Vincent, Marc Rebillet, and Alison Wonderland.
As pandemic lockdowns and masks become a thing of the past, the music industry's live sector is exploding, according to a new IMS Business report. Producer and DJ David Guetta predicted this historic return in late 2021, stating that the "best years for dance music in history" will come after the pandemic.
"This is not just about bouncing back; this is bouncing back and almost bouncing off the trampoline," Mark Mulligan, Managing Director of MIDiA Research, told Variety.
