Steve Aoki wants to collaborate with Elon Musk
Elon Musk has long been poised behind the driver’s wheel of Tesla Inc., but if he ever wanted to switch gears to the music industry, Steve Aoki would be more than happy to assist. Aoki declared Musk his next collaborator of choice, if he were to have his pick of in-studio company, that is. “I would love to collaborate with Elon Musk,” Aoki said during his recent appearance on BuzzFeed‘s AM to DM live morning show. “At the end of the day… I just need like, ideas, creative flow, energy, and then kind of vibe off that.”
Aoki is no one-trick pony. The Dim Mak head manages a host of business projects outside the music and entertainment industries, including fashion ventures that have led him to collaborate on merch with BAPE and to show a men’s streetwear collection during New York Fashion Week in 2017. While a bakery might have appeared a more apt fit for Aoki’s live tradition of caking his audience members, the versatile DJ additionally launched a pizza restaurant by the name of “Pizzaoki” in July 2018, enabling Aoki fans to satiate their savory cravings. Now that Musk has stepped down as the chairman of Tesla holdings, the automotive expert just might have time to apply his creative “drive” to a more musically oriented endeavor.
