The Chainsmokers have had an incredible year in 2022 with their return to the stage and finally releasing the the follow up to their 2019 album, World War Joy when they dropped their newest release, So Far So Good back in May. Since then, the duo of Drew Taggart and Alex Pall have taken to the stage and shared three new singles from the “deluxe” version of the album.
Despite the success of the album and tour, the duo still find ways to cause their own brand of chaos and trouble. Their latest foray into the tabloids involved an interesting interaction between Drew Taggart and rapper T.I. While out at a party, Taggart was apparently enjoying the company of the Atlanta rapper and felt the urge to give him a kiss on the cheek. The gesture was quickly returned with a quick shove and a punch to the face of the producer. While the incident itself doesn’t seem to have been captured on camera anyway, Taggart took to TikTok that evening to give fans the full story in a video titled When meeting T.I. goes wrong.
“T.I. just literally punched me in the face. We’re in a vibe and I, like, gave him a kiss on the cheek, it was totally my fault. And he was like, ‘Don’t do that,’ and I was like, ‘OK,’ and he pushed me off. I was like, ‘Alright, my bad.’ He punched me in the face, and I was like, ‘OK, I’m sorry,’ and he was like, ‘Alright, cool, we’re good.’ It was the weirdest interaction ever.”
To ensure to fans that the incident truly wasn’t that serious, Drew’s Chainsmoker teammate, Alex Pall could be seen in the background of this account, laughing the whole time over the whole ordeal. As for T.I.’s side of the story, he took to Instagram the following day to let everyone know that there was no hard feelings, ““I think the most important thing to take away is afterwards. We had a drink, we took a shot, and we moved on. I like The Chainsmokers, not to get no sugar though.”
