Tiësto and Friends Shined Bright at Vibee and Insomniac’s Stunning “Chasing Sunsets” Event in Cabo
The chase is over—for now—but what a chase it was. Tiësto superfans and those in pursuit of something new gathered in Cabo San Lucas from November 9-11 for all that Vibee and Insomniac's "Chasing Sunsets" had to offer.
Daily pool parties and mainstage sets bleeding into the AM only scratched the surface of what the weekend had in store. Those willing to splurge experienced everything from happy hours and boat parties to a delectable brunch and meet-and-great with Tiësto.
The three-day celebration was packed with enough activities to tire even the most seasoned partygoer. Fortunately, the beauty of ME Cabo and the surrounding scenery made it easy to recharge between performances.
Tiësto was naturally the star of the show. The legendary producer presented a special "Drive Into Sunset" set on Friday underneath beautiful blue skies. It was his way of greeting guests, but only his first appearance of the weekend.
Tiësto returned to the stage on Saturday night equipped with an endless catalogue of hits. The barnstorming DJ's command of the decks is undeniable, but he wasn't the weekend's only standout. A number of artists held their own alongside the industry titan.
Deorro was an appropriate headliner for Thursday. The Mexican-American DJ bridged the gap between concertgoers flying into Cabo and those local to the area. It was a fun set packed with familiar songs and encouraged guests from around the world to speak one unified language.
There may not have been a more suitable set for the weekend than Nora En Pure's Friday night closer. It was everything you'd want from a weekend in paradise: comfort, fun and peace.
The pool parties of "Chasing Sunsets" were generally a relaxing experience. Guests would wade in the pool, groove along to the music and unwind under the sun's warmth. It was a perfect way to ease into the evening's entertainment.
But Snakehips wasn't having any of that. The esteemed duo coaxed the crowd to their feet with a Saturday set that was too fun to sit through. Their performance closed out the pool party and served as a wise transition to the evening's mainstage acts.
TELYKAST and Audien preceded Tiësto on Saturday and set the tone for the evening. The former's intro immediately grabbed your attention, a reminder that the night was young and much was yet to come.
Their set was easy to get lost in and certainly one of the most engaging all weekend. The same could be said for Audien's set. Both artists produced a "big night" feel that fed perfectly into Tiësto's momentous finale.
The biggest surprise of "Chasing Sunsets" was comedian Blake Webber, who is perhaps best known for his catchy 2022 hit, "So LA." Webber's natural proclivity to engage with crowds was on full display. The beats were on point, the stage presence was captivating and the ad-libs were hilarious.
Incorporating Super Mario Bros. into one of his transitions was a weekend highlight. You could tell Webber was having the time of his life and you couldn't help but tag along.
Surf Mesa, Luis Torres, Max Styler, Sommer Ray and David Stone are among the other DJs who performed over the course of three days.
The weekend was chock full of highlights, but the closing day deserves special attention. Saturday struck a delicate balance between bustle and intimacy. The proximity to the artists made you feel like part of the experience instead of a witness to it. It was busy but not too busy and it felt whole without being overwhelming.
Bubbly melodies and sultry rhythms accompanied the stunning skies of Cabo from day to night as "Chasing Sunsets" provided every indulgence: music, social connections, tranquility and intimate experiences. The sun has set on this year's festivities, but we're patiently waiting for the next chase.
