The king of trance has arrived and conquered yet again. Armin van Buuren took the Tomorrowland 2022 mainstage for the first day of the festival and presented to those in attendance a performance that stands as one of the best of weekend one.
With the responsibility of ushering in the nightcap of Tomorrowland 2022 on day one, Armin van Buuren loaded his set with an hour of energetic classics, remixes, and newly released tracks along with a few new IDs. Friday night continues to show why van Buuren is regarded as a legend in this industry. With over 70,000 people in attendance, he delivered an exciting musical journey that was fun, emotional, euphoric and fast-paced.
The Dutch native began the show with the club mix of his single with Billen Ted and JC Stewart,”Come Around Again.” He later gave us six different IDs, including one from Ahmad Helmy as well as one collaboration van Buuren did with R3hab and another track currently labeled “Clap ID.” Armin van Buuren wasn’t shy to feature several other remixes, such as the Mannix remix of “This Is What It Feels Like,” David Guetta’s remix of “Satisfaction” and countless others.
The set is currently not officially up to rewatch yet, but knowing van Buuren’s track record, he will give access to audiences worldwide sooner rather than later. He will return for weekend two, where he will again perform on Friday, but this time he will have the co-headlining set only behind Steve Aoki. And if it is anything like this first iteration, we viewers are in for a real treat.
