Troy Junker Drops Music Video for House and Hip-Hop Hybrid, “Doubles”
Curating his very own blend of hip-hop and dance music with fiery results, Métis rapper Troy Junker is on the rise.
Directly after his 2022 EP The Highs & Lows, Junker dropped his debut album, Wide Awake, which took him on a journey towards redefining his artistry and collaborating with a wide range of acclaimed talents. Combining upbeat dance elements with smooth bars, his recent 12-track project was created alongside Juno Award-winning artists David Ariza and Lantz with mastering from multi-Platinum engineer Dan Weston.
Breathing new life into the record and expanding its visual world, Junker has now unveiled the official music video for one of the album’s most intoxicating cuts, "Doubles." The cinematic visual was created by The 97 Collective, who are known for their collaborations with some of Canada’s most celebrated hip-hop and R&B artists such as NAV, 88GLAM, Roy Woods and anders.
"Doubles" perfectly encapsulates what Junker is all about. The rapper’s braggadocious bars add a catchy dimension while the trap-driven production of the verses seamlessly transitions into the drop, which is driven by punchy percussion and chugging basslines.

"We started with the hip-hop tracks, and then I told Ariza, let's explore deeper into electronic dance songs that I can give the DJs. Also, the project's cover art is inspired by a huge bush party I was at in Saskatchewan until 5AM when the sun was coming up, and I wanted to fuse that memory into the imagery of the album."
