Zeds Dead and Hamdi Tap Warrior Queen for Mind-Melting Track, “Criminal”
Hamdi has returned to Deadbeats alongside label owners Zeds Dead to drop their hotly anticipated collaboration, "Criminal."
Featuring Jamaican dancehall and dub artist Warrior Queen, "Criminal" is the pinnacle of the 140bpm renaissance (it's really 142, but who's counting). Zeds Dead and Hamdi's sounds are a natural fusion, blending warbling synths with frenetic bass into one fiery package. And Warrior Queen's vocals are an ideal fit for the mind-bending track, adding another layer of depth.
A collaboration between Zeds Dead and Hamdi was bound to happen sooner or later. The former have long championed dubstep and its U.K. roots, either by playing the genre in their live sets, releasing it on their label or producing it themselves. Hamdi, meanwhile, has furiously risen from the U.K. underground with his grime-influenced sound, emerging as one of bass music's brightest stars.
