Listen to ODESZA’s Spellbinding Surprise Song, “Hopeful”
The new track didn't make the cut for ODESZA's last album, but they "always felt it was special."
ODESZA have surprise-released "Hopeful," a spellbinding track out via the duo's Foreign Family Collective imprint.
"Hopeful" is haunting and heavenly, harkening back to the empyrean sound of ODESZA's early work. They explored a new direction in their last album, The Last Goodbye, largely departing from their signature sound to embrace house music with darker sensibilities.
"Hopeful" is the first new song from ODESZA since the release of The Last Goodbye, which garnered a nomination for Best Dance/Electronic Album at the 65th Grammy Awards. Despite its absence from the project, the cinematic track appeared in the duo's ensuing live shows and became a fan-favorite.
"This one never made the album but we always felt it was special and in a way encapsulated our time away from the world while writing the record," ODESZA said in a statement.
