Steve Aoki’s 10th Album Will Feature Akon, Paris Hilton, Galantis and More

10 albums later, Steve Aoki's collaborative spirit is as strong as ever.

Aoki has revealed HiROQUEST: Double Helix, a brand-new concept album releasing on November 17th. An expansion of the universe he built within 2022’s HiROQUEST: Genesis, the concept album "embraces a sense of nostalgia for the early days of Aoki’s career while also pushing dance music into the future," according to a press release.

That nostalgia bowled us over this morning after Aoki released a remake of Akon's formative 2004 hit, "Locked Up," a process he called "a dream come true." The dance rework, a collaboration with French production duo TRINIX, arrived alongside a claymation music video.

HiROQUEST: Double Helix will also feature collaborations with Galantis, John Martin, Timmy Trumpet, Paris Hilton, Ángela Aguilar, Danna Paola, Greeicy, JJ Lin and Hayley Kiyoko, among others. Aoki debuted many of the upcoming album's singles during his recent headlining performance on Tomorrowland's iconic Mainstage.

HiROQUEST is an entire world I crafted around an enigmatic character named HiRO," Aoki explained. "Part I was largely driven by my alt-music roots in hardcore punk bands. Now, the story continues on Double Helix, which embraces dance culture while intertwining the pulse of contemporary Latin music."
