Alesso and Ty Dolla $ign Bring Smooth Grooves to New Collaboration, “Caught a Body”

Alesso and Ty Dolla $ign release what could be the first of several future collaborations.

Following his recent signing to Geffen Records, Alesso is forging the start of a new artistic chapter with an assist from Ty Dolla $ign.

In the midst of his hit-laden set at Miami's Ultra Music Festival, the Swedish dance music superstar teased some potential future classics from his hard drive, one of which was "Caught a Body." The brand new collab with Dolla $ign is now officially out after the L.A. rapper made it known last year that he and Alesso had been hard at work in the studio, suggesting the two have multiple unreleased works stowed away in the war chest.

With "Caught a Body," Alesso opts for a clean arrangement highlighted by a slinking, minimal bassline, fluttering stabs and crisp drums. Combined with Dolla $ign's smooth-talking flows, the track's sleek grooves make it an irresistible radio-ready effort at the intersection of hip-hop and dance music.

As the two genres continue on their collision course thanks to contemporary superstars like Drake and Beyoncé, Dolla $ign has operated as one of the trend's leaders. The chart-topping singer has landed singles alongside numerous electronic music heavyweights in recent memory, including Skrillex, Swedish House Mafia and Tiësto.
