deadmau5 and Kaskade Unite With SOFI TUKKER for Emotionally Charged Kx5 Single, “Sacrifice”

The new track is set to appear on Kx5's forthcoming debut album.

It's been less than one year since deadmau5 and Kaskade revealed their collaborative alias, Kx5. In that time, the tandem released a slew of knockout singles before recently announcing a self-titled debut album is in the pipeline.

Ahead of the official release of Kx5, which is slated for March 17th, they've now revealed a stunning single produced in collaboration with genre-defying, Grammy-nominated duo SOFI TUKKER.

In "Sacrifice," an emotive topline courtesy of SOFI TUKKER's Sophie Hawley-Weld voices matters of the heart ever so eloquently: "Will you sacrifice for me if I don't sacrifice for you / I won't be the one to let you go / But I'm not givin' you anything to hold on to." Merging potent, raw emotions with a pounding, four-on-the-floor beat is no small feat, but the two formidable dance music duos have expertly produced an emotionally charged single that will fill any dancefloor.

"This song stings with the truth," SOFI TUKKER affirmed in a statement shared with EDM.com. "It's ultimately about ambition and about choosing yourself and your job over someone you love."

"It's one of our favorite songs we've ever written, in part because it comes from such an honest and real place," the duo continued. "It's not the style of song we usually create, which tends to be more fun and light. So collabing with deadmau5 and Kaskade for their Kx5 project felt like the perfect fit. They bring it into this dark techno world which amplifies the drama while making you dance."
