Knife Party Tease First New Music In Five Years
After a half-decade devoid of new music, Knife Party are sharpening their blades.
Comprising Pendulum members Rob Swire and Gareth McGrillen, the iconic electronic music duo this week teased their first new original music in over five years. Knife Party's last record came back in July 2019, when they released the scintillating Lost Souls EP.
Ready to cut deep into the hearts and minds of fans, it seems Swire and McGrillen are poised to remind us all why they earned their name. The duo took to X to reveal they're working on new bass music by sharing a meme featuring the viral Turkish sharpshooter Yusuf Dikeç, whose casual nonchalance with his pistol has captivated viewers of the Paris 2024 Summer Olympic Games.
"Knife Party cooking..." the post reads.
Despite the five-year break, Knife Party remains one of the world's most influential electronic music acts. From the cyber-paranoia of "Internet Friends" to the incendiary "Bonfire," the duo's innovative fusion of electro house and dubstep has redefined genre boundaries for over two decades and inspired a new generation of music producers in their wake.
It's important to note that Swire and McGrillen have not formally announced the release of new Knife Party music at the time of this writing. Check out their post below.
