Last-Ever Mayan Warrior Event Announced for October 2023 In Los Angeles
The Mayan Warrior event series is returning to the roots of the famed art installation in Los Angeles this coming October.
However, it's a bittersweet moment for the art car community as it will effectively be the final Mayan Warrior event. The car, a longtime staple of Burning Man and a beloved touring vehicle in the world of electronic music, tragically caught fire and burnt beyond repair.
“Mayan Warrior was never just an art car to us—it was countless moments of laughter, wonder, tears, dancing, and connection,” Mayan Warrior Founder Pablo Gonzalez Vargas said at the time. “It left with it a beautiful trail of lifelong friendships for which we feel extraordinarily grateful."
Prior to the accident, the art car had been active for over a decade, and in the process developed a following which eventually facilitated the production of branded events, beginning with Los Angeles.
This coming Halloween season they will be partnering up with local events brand Stranger Than; to produce another event in Grand Park on October 28th, nearly six years following the brand's debut event on the West Coast.
