Listen to Justin Mylo and Karen Harding’s Lovelorn House Anthem, “Rescue Me”
Careening out of heartbreak's depths, Justin Mylo and Karen Harding have joined forces for a new collaboration, "Rescue Me." Drawing inspiration from Faithless' 1995 dance classic "Insomnia," the nostalgic song is the last release of 2023 from Martin Garrix's STMPD RCRDS.
Stranded souls glide ahead in "Rescue Me," wherein Mylo and Harding throw a glittering lifeline to dancefloors drowning in solitude. With arms outstretched, the song's lyrics conjure up longing and loneliness as Harden implores an absent love to save her from isolation's icy grip.
Mylo's production lifts the mood with a kaleidoscopic blend of vintage house and trance. But even as his uplifting rhythms drench the mix like sunlight dappling a morning sky, a thread of heartache still catches in its throat. The poignant lyricism is par for the course for Harding, one of the dance music industry's leading vocalists.
"We began with the idea of a melancholic love song, but as the sessions progressed, we realized the potential for a dance song," Mylo said. "The influence of 'Insomnia' was undeniable, and we wanted to capture that essence while blending it with Karen's unique sound."
