Listen: Zedd Teases New Track Amid Recording of New Album

As rumors of a collaboration with Katy Perry swirl on social media, Zedd shared a funky demo in the works.

Before the pandemic, Zedd began working on a big new album. However, he's remained tight-lipped since revealing it last fall.

But he's now shared a sneak-peek of a brand new track in the works, which has generated quite the buzz on social media. The Grammy-winning dance music superstar took to Instagram to share a clip of the demo, tentatively titled "Funky Jam." With its cinematic chords and funky, uplifting riffs, it's signature Zedd.

Whether or not the song ends up on the upcoming album remains to be seen.

"The feeling of the album is going to have some happy moments and some hands-up moments, but that is still my direction for the record,” Zedd told Zane Lowe of Apple Music 1 back in August.

Three weeks ago, Zedd provided fans with an update, sharing a Instagram photo of him with his music equipment. "Sorry I don’t post much these days," he wrote. "I’m just working on the album all day and don’t take many photos but here’s proof of life."

It seems the album isn't the only big project in the works for Zedd, who recently inked a 2023 club residency with Zouk Group Las Vegas. Rumors of a song with pop superstar Katy Perry have been swirling on social media, although we're unable to confirm anything currently in the works from the "365" collaborators.
