Missing DJ, Subset, Found Safe After Extensive Search
Mark Martinez, a DJ whose recent disappearance led to an investigation by the Seattle Police Department, has been located.
Martinez, who performs under the moniker Subset, was reported missing after he failed to appear for a DJ gig at Seattle's Q Nightclub on November 22nd. After extensive searches were conducted in the Seattle area, his sister Diane today announced that Martinez was found safe.
"I am so relieved to inform you all that I’ve made contact with Mark and he is safe," Diane wrote in a Facebook group created to provide updates on his ordeal.
"I can't thank you enough for your search efforts, support, and respect," she continued. "The last week and a half has been incredibly difficult for us all, but we got through it together and now we can breathe easy knowing Mark is OK. This community means so much to me and my family."
Martinez, 35, has performed at Burning Man and Camp Bisco, among other major events. He's also a prolific streamer, at one point DJing for a staggering 69 hours live on Twitch during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The circumstances surrounding Martinez's disappearance, including where he was located, are unclear at the time of writing. His family has requested privacy regarding the matter.
