Romy Calls on Fred again.. to Produce Stunning Single, “The Sea”

The xx's Romy has once again called upon Fred again.. for another single from her upcoming debut solo album, Mid Air.

A stunning showcase of Romy's gripping songwriting, "The Sea" is the story of a summer romance that never ends. With help from Fred and the prolific record producer Stuart Price, the track lays down a gentle but driving beat that pulsates like a nightclub you can see down the coast.

Wrapped up in a Mollie Mills-directed music video, the lyrics are brought to life so fans can really take in the atmosphere created by Romy with a beautiful performance from her and her wife, Vic Lentaigne.

Romy's Mid Air album is scheduled to released on September 8th via Young. She collaborated with Fred again.. in late 2022 for "Strong," a heartbreaking track about the loss of her mother, before again joining forces for "Loveher," an emotive release about the beginning of a relationship. With so many powerful releases, it's safe to say her debut solo offering is shaping up to be one of the best of the year.
