Unitea Partners With Claude VonStroke, DJ Diesel, More to Launch Augmented Reality Rewards

Unitea hopes to encourage authentic connections between artists and fans by inviting users to “create, connect and collect.”

Unitea, the first engage-to-earn social media platform encouraging authentic connections between musical artists and their fans, has partnered with 10 electronic music artists to launch the app’s first augmented reality (AR) rewards.

In a world where content is constantly created but quickly loses its connection between creators and fans, Unitea hopes to encourage authentic connections by inviting users to “create, connect and collect.” Users can create short-form videos soundtracked by their favorite artists and earn digital tokens to be exchanged for artist-focused rewards and experiences authenticated by blockchain technology.

Users racking up enough digital tokens will have access to some of Unitea’s exclusive line of AR-powered rewards. For example, 3D animations depicting Claude VonStroke’s Dirtybird egg logo hatching, Said The Sky’s rotating cloud and DJ Diesel’s roaring gorilla head all up for grabs under Unitea's new program.

Users can collect each AR reward by following an artist’s account and showcasing their fandom through the app’s short-form video feature, aptly called "Vibes," which mirrors Instagram’s Reels by allowing creators to make videos using an extensive catalog of artist-approved music.

They then receive artist-specific "Karma" tokens to be redeemed for exclusive rewards, like meet-and-greets, tickets to shows and merchandise, among others. Users can also earn "Karma" points by syncing their Spotify or Apple Music accounts and listening to their favorite artists.

Some of the artists that previously offered fans in-person experiences included ILLENIUM, John Summit, SOFI TUKKER, STS9, Martin Garrix, TOKiMONSTA, Oliver Tree and Mersiv.

“Our vision is to build a more equitable social media model where everyone wins,” Unitea co-founder Ketan Rahangdale said in a press statement. “Artists build real relationships with their fans, who supercharge music streams and content creation in exchange for authenticated rewards of tangible value."
