Hardwell and Space 92 Join Forces for Techno Heavy-Hitter, “The Abyss”

Darkness and depth dance together in Hardwell and Space 92's new collaboration, "The Abyss."

Out now on Oliver Heldens' HILOMATIK, the seven-minute record is the full-blown descent into techno that fans of Hardwell have been waiting for. Sinister and eerie, "The Abyss" plunges us into a black hole with shadowy sound design and thumping, relentless kick drums.

An ominous vocal sample in the break taunts and dares you to adventure further into Hardwell and Space 92's dark universe. The track then rises once again, culminating in a hair-raising, nasty techno drop.

“It’s no secret I’m a fan of dirty acid sounds, pulsating basslines, and big rave anthem energy," Hardwell said in a press release. "I’ve been a fan of Space 92’s music for a while now, and the prospect of combining the elements of trancey techno and distorted percussion he’s expertly nailed in his sound made this collaboration an exciting project.”

“Hardwell is such an industry titan, so this collaboration was definitely something I was extremely honored and excited to work on!" added Space 92. "I am proud of what we both achieved, as I think this track reflects both our personalities and signature sounds."

Hardwell is currently on tour with upcoming festival dates at Mysteryland in the Netherlands and in Tokyo for Ultra Japan. Meanwhile, Space 92 is gearing up for a bevy of festivals in Europe this summer and will return to the U.S. in November for sets in Brooklyn and Austin's Seismic Dance Event.
