Joanna Magik Announces Debut EP, “Got Something / Dancefloor”

Do you believe in Magik?

Hailing from Western Canada, Joanna Magik is a rising DJ and producer making serious noise. Recognized for her house music production and high-energy stage performances, she’s also known for her involvement in LP Giobbi's FEMME HOUSE collective, where she's been actively raising awareness of underrepresented individuals in the electronic music space.

Earlier this year, Magik assisted in ushering in FEMME HOUSE's debut in Canada, where there were not one, but two sold-out DJ 101 workshops in Calgary and Toronto, respectively. "There is SPACE FOR YOU in the music industry and your UNIQUE VOICE is a needed contribution," she wrote in a celebratory post following the in-person events.

The self-made beatsmith has been making moves this year and she's now set up for a massive summer season ahead.

Following an official Shambhala Music Festival pre-party with SkiiTour and a raging Canada Day show with The Funk Hunters, Magik is preparing to return to Calgary's Badlands Music Festival in support of Fisher and Green Velvet. Check out her summer 2023 tour dates below.

Midway through the tour, on the day of her Shambhala performance at the Fractal Forest, Magik is set to release her debut EP, Got Something / Dancefloor. The record is releasing via Box of Cats, the label founded by Wongo and Kyle Watson, for whom she’ll be opening at Academy LA. The upcoming two-tracker, out Friday July 21st, will surely get the party started—and keep it going—with its infectious tech house grooves.

"'Got Something' and 'Dancefloor' [will] take you from peak hour to the afters," she said in a statement shared with EDM.com.
