Dubstep and Metalcore Collide In Cathartic Collab From Excision, Wooli and The Devil Wears Prada: Listen
The Devil Wears Prada's hardcore spirit is alive and well in "Reasons," which features the pulverizing dubstep sounds of Excision and Wooli.
Out now under Excision's Subsidia banner, "Reasons" encapsulates the cathartic spirit of the beloved The Devil Wears Prada. It's a big moment for Excision and Wooli, and one that isn't lost on the chart-topping metalcore band, who entered uncharted waters when they teamed up with the dubstep superstars.
"When Excision and Wooli approached us about working together on a song, we were so stoked for the opportunity to dive into uncharted territory for The Devil Wears Prada," the band said in a joint statement. "It was fun injecting the lyrical and musical flavors from [the 2022 album] Color Decay onto an EDM track, and the emotional and aggressive nature of our sound fit perfectly with their mastery of modern bass music."
The Devil Wears Prada's hardcore spirit is alive and well in "Reasons," but it wouldn't be a classic Excision and Wooli track without one of their signature drops, which comes at the midway point. Here, the rabid angst of The Devil Wears Prada reaches its tipping point before all hell breaks loose.
